中大卑詩省校友會將於2025年5月10日星期六舉行「趣味人工智能講座」講座，歡迎各校友參加，詳情如下。

講座內容:

Prof. Lam will talk about AI LLM and geometry (a dialogue with ChatGPT to find out how AI think and reason for high school geometry problems). Dr. So will also talk about GenAI Presentation slide generator, song and music generation, as well as video generation tools.

講者簡介: 

Kai-Pui (KP) Lam, engineering professor retired since 2013. Previous work experience at CUHK (HK), UBC (Vancouver), and National Research Council Canada (Ottawa). Current leisure interests: Using AI LLM in geometry (maths) and Chinese poems (arts); astronomy (stars photography); digital arts (Chinese calligraphy and painting).

Dr. Joseph So: Currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Smart Location Technology Limited, a Canadian-based firm, Dr. Joseph So earned his Ph.D. in Information Engineering from CUHK.

Dr. So is actively involved in professional organizations and holds multiple prestigious titles, including Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE), Information Systems Professional of Canada (I.S.P.), Information Technology Certified Professional of Canada (ITCP), Corporate Member of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (MHKIE), and Chartered Engineer with the UK Engineering Council (CEng)

With experience teaching at universities in Hong Kong and Canada, Dr. So blends academic and practical expertise. His interests extend to educational innovation through board game design, reflecting his passion for creative approaches to learning. As a member of the C-Council (SaaS CTO) in BC Tech Association of Canada, Dr. So is deeply committed to advancing technology in his community.
